New School Year Starts for ACSD Staff

Monday, August 19th saw the first day of the new school year for the majority of staff at Algona Community School District. All staff- teachers, custodians, associates, bus drivers and food service- started the day by being treated to a breakfast from Taher Food Service in the Algona High School Commons. Mr. Carter, superintendent for ACSD, led the opening by thanking the summer staff for their work to clean, paint and beautify the buildings and grounds on each campus.

First DayThe majority of Mr. Carter's message centered around the impacts that all of the staff can have on student attendance. Chronic Absenteeism has been on the rise overall the last few years across the country. Please visit https://www.algona.k12.ia.us/page/attendance to learn more about the impacts of Chronic Absenteeism.

Mr. Carter also welcomed the new staff to our district! The picture below shows all our new staff. Thank you to all our staff for the work they will and continue to do for all students at ACSD!
