This time around, our Senior Spotlight goes to Chloe Haase! Chloe lives in Algona with her parents, Larry and Tracy Haase, as well as her two dogs, Shiloh, a yellow lab mix, and Cricket, a mini pinscher mix. Chloe is also the youngest among her siblings. She has a sister who graduated from Algona High School a couple of years ago and two other older brothers, Truman and Triston. Some fun facts about Chloe’s family: her oldest brother, Triston, is ten years older than her, and she has an uncle who recently moved to Scotland to create a woodworking business.
In school, Chloe participates in all branches of band. She plays the saxophone, spreads her enthusiasm, and leads as a drum major. Although Chloe loves band, she can also be found outside of school writing, doing DIY projects, organizing get togethers, and decorating. When the weather is nice, Chloe loves to be outdoors too. You’ll probably find her driving around with the people she loves while listening to a new favorite song. Some other favorites of hers include the color olive green, her unique sense of style, and her tennis shoe collection.
Chloe describes herself as compassionate, inspired, hopeful, and an adventurous dreamer with attainable goals. She has a caring personality and is so excited to see what the future has in store for her.
As a senior, Chloe has learned that the world is her oyster and that she has so many directions she can take in life after high school, which excites her. She advises all current and future high school students to not let high school pass you by but to take a bold leap every now and again. High school is a great time to start trying new things and develop who you are as a person.
On the subject of COVID, Chloe agrees that it has brought on a crazy but not entirely bad year, saying, “At first, I think it was difficult, but everyone learned to adjust to the new changes and work with the situation presented. It’s made me thankful for people, time, and gatherings, so I’m excited for when I’ll be able to get back to things being normal.”
After high school, Chloe plans to take a gap year and go on a mission trip with Youth With a Mission and eventually earn a degree in small business and entrepreneurship. As she graduates from Algona High School, Chloe hopes to leave a legacy of her beautiful personality and individuality, “I hope to inspire others through my character and devotion to my individuality. I hope it makes people embrace their best qualities and stand by what makes them passionate.” It will be sad to see such an awe inspiring and unique individual walk out of Algona High School’s doors, but the rest of the world is so lucky to be able to welcome such a vibrant young woman! Don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with Chloe, she’s sure to knock your socks off!
