On February 18th, the Algona boys traveled to Clear Lake to play the #1 ranked Lions. They fell short, losing 53-78 to a solid team. Ben Helmers led the team with 20 points and Nathan Manske also added 16 points. Jacob Burns led the rebounding with 7 and also dished out 4 assists.
On February 24th, the Bulldogs went to Humboldt for the first round of playoffs. They lost 48-90. Ben Helmers led the scoring with 26 points and Nathan Manske added 11 points. Manske led in rebounding and assists with 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
The Bulldogs graduate one senior, Ben Helmers. They finished with an overall record of 8-14, going 5-8 in Conference play. Helmers said, “I really enjoyed all four years of Algona basketball.” Congratulations to the Bulldogs on their season. We are looking forward to next season!
