Algona Bulldog spring sports, track, trapshooting, and golf, are starting very soon. AHS golfers will be back on the course in no time with the weather looking up.
The AHS girls’ golf team had a great season last year, placing second in the Conference and having a State qualifier, Abby Brooks. Girls’ golf hasn’t had a qualifier since 2015. This year the girls’ team will have four returning seniors: Lainey Venteicher, Caitlin Louscher, Lillian Miller, and Waverly Espe. Lainey Venteicher commented, “When you’re having a bad day, hit it hard and hope it goes far.” A golf meeting will be held in Coach Weler’s room on March 5th, during TAS. The season will start right after spring break. Good luck ladies during your season!
The AHS boys’ golf team will be starting the season strong, coming off of a 7th place finish last year in Sectionals and placing 4th in the NCC tournament. The boys’ team will have three returning seniors: Joseph Struecker, Ryan Weier, and Ezra Oldenkamp. Ryan Weier commented, “If you play the s
lice, you never slice.” The boys’ golf meeting will be held in Coach Ford's room on March 5th, during TAS. Their season will also start right after spring break. Good luck boys during your season.
