Auto trip 2025

Written by Hayden Lara

On February the 6th through the 7th, nine seniors from the AHS auto body class went to Ankeny. The auto body class went to see the John Deere factory and a private car collection, with the chance to see different opportunities out there.

John Deere is famous for over half of American farmers using John Deere farming equipment. The John Deere Des Moines factory in Ankeny makes sprayers, cotton pickers, planters, tilters, and seed drills for farmers. The sprayers made there are only one of two places that make agricultural sprayers. With over 1,700 employees working in the factory, the John Deere factory makes a name to be trusted and good to work with for anyone looking to work.

For the private car collection, students got to see 180 cars, including an old GM, Bellairs, Cameroes, Ipamalas, and more!

Chris Dodds states, “It was a fun trip, I got to learn a lot about all of the things I can be in.”
