On February 8th, the boys’ swim team traveled to Mason City High School to compete at the District meet. Algona boys’ who competed include juniors Colin Roberts, Alex Mortensen, and Owen Doocy, and senior, Cadyn Samp.
In the 50 yard freestyle, Roberts had a time of 24.68 and Mortensen had a time of 25.91. In the 100 yard freestyle, Mortensen had a time of 58.82 and Samp had a time of 1:09.07. Samp had a time of 2:40.76 in the 200 yard freestyle. In the 100 yard butterfly, Doocy had a time of 1:31.79.
The District meet was their last meet of the season. The boys had a very good season and Alex Mortensen had some very good words to say, “At the end of the season we really kicked it in and everybody dropped their time.” Good job Bulldogs on this outstanding season!
