Freshmen and sophomores can run for District office in FFA. Algona is in the North Central District. From AHS, Cassidy Bierstedt and Malea Divis are running for District office positions. The announcement of officers is done in the spring, at the State FFA Convention. Due to weather, the interviews were postponed until February 12th.
The Iowa FFA Degree is the highest rank that can be achieved by active members by the Iowa FFA Association. From AHS, Ace Studer and Chris Dodds have received this honor. The announcement was made on February 6th, but awards for the Iowa Degree are not given out until the spring conference. Ace Studer said, “FFA has made a big impact on me and my future.”
Next up for FFA is FFA Week, which occurs the week of February 17th.
