Five AHS graduates were recognized at the December 21, 2021, basketball game for their success in athletics at AHS.
Hunter Berry earned a total of eight letters throughout high school. He received letters in many sports, but he received half of them in wrestling. His greatest achievement in wrestling was setting the school record in most consecutive pins with 16. Hunter Berry is now a soldier for the Iowa Army National Guard and is attending Iowa State University, majoring in finance.
Nick Brown was successful in numerous sports, gaining 10 letters during his career at AHS. He earned four in cross country, four in track and field, and two in basketball. He was also awarded an individual honor for being a 2020-2021 State Track qualifier. Nick Brown is now studying to become a powerlineman.
Alexa Chase earned nine letters throughout her time at AHS. Her most letters were earned from track and field with four. She also received three in volleyball and two in basketball. She was a State qualifier in 2018, 2019, and 2021. She earned team honors in 2019 as her team was District champions. Alexa Chase is now in the veterinary tech program at Iowa Lakes.
Cameren Rindone earned himself nine letters while being in sports at AHS. He got four of them in baseball but earned a letter in four different sports including baseball, track and field, football, and basketball. Tyler Manske said, “Cam was a great teammate in every sport we did together. He was always fun to play with.” Cameren Rindone is now continuing his career in baseball at Grand View University.
James Wartick acquired 10 letters at AHS. They include three in football, three in basketball, and four in golf. One individual award he earned was First Team All-District tight end in football for two years in a row. James Wartick attends Grand View University right now and is playing football and majoring in business.
