The boys’ and girls’ golf teams have both had a full three weeks of practice and were excited to start competing in meets. The girls’ golf team has twelve golfers this year and is coached by Mike Weier. The boys’ team also has twelve golfers and is coached by Mike Ford and Ben Kern.
The girls’ golf team traveled to West Bend on Tuesday, April 15th. They placed first as a team. Top performers from the day were Gabby Venteicher in first place with a 49 and Taylor Hellman in second place with a 54.
Also on Tuesday, the boys’ golf team hosted North Union and West Bend at Eagle Hills Golf Course. As a team, the boys also placed first. Nathan Manske led the Bulldogs with a score of 39, followed by Wyatt Kelly with a 42. Joseph Struecker also had a good round and said, “It was a great win. They were great competitors.”
The Bulldogs both traveled on April 17th. The girls went to Estherville Golf Course and the boys went to North Kossuth Golf Club.
Next week, both the girls’ and boys’ teams will compete in a tournament on Monday, April 21st. The girls will travel to Estherville while the boys will travel to Spencer. Make sure to wish them luck!
