This spring, Model UN will have their annual spring conference on April 3rd and 4th at the University of Northern Iowa. Students will present the topics of their choice. They can pick from economics, disarmament, politics, security council, and international court of justice. They get to pick from two countries: India and Guyana to present their topics representing.
One of the committee's prompts is social development, humanitarian aids, and cultural exchange. Model UN will go down to UNI where they compete against other schools with their team.
The point of Model UN is to help students learn more about the United Nations. Model UN simulates committees about diplomacy, international relations, current world issues, and the UN itself. Aylee Herke commented, “I’m so excited to learn more at this spring conference!” Good luck Model UN!
