College Fair 2025

Written by Katie Ludwig

The annual College Fair at Algona High School is an opportunity for students to learn about different colleges and what they offer. It is normally held in the Algona High School gym, which should have been on March 5th this year, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. During those 45 minutes, students should have walked around the gym, stopped at tables, and talked with representatives about what each college provides. Many representatives would’ve been able to talk about the different majors provided at the college they are from. They would also have pamphlets and poster presentations that showed important dates and information for students.

This event was canceled due to weather. Just because it was canceled doesn't mean students can't be prepared for the next step if college is their path. Students should check out various college websites. There, they can find information about college visit days, prerequisites, and many other special events held at the individual colleges. Another way to learn about the different colleges is to ask around. Ask teachers about their experiences at various colleges and ask seniors about their plans for college and jobs. Also, past graduates are good references as well, as they just took this step in their life recently. Lastly, plan a college visit! Go check out the schools that interest you to see if they are a good fit for you.
