Choir and band have lots in store ahead. There will be three concerts this week, along with upcoming jazz competitions, solo and large group ensemble, spring concerts, and performance at graduation.
The middle school and high school choirs are set to perform on Monday, March 10th, in the pops concert. The pops concert will take place in the PAC at 7pm. A junior in choir, Avery Hersom, says, “In choir, especially for the pops concert, every voice is important.” This concert will feature more popular songs and even some hits from musicals.
On Tuesday, March eleventh, the middle school and high school band will perform in the all school band concert.
On Thursday, March 13th, at 7pm there will be an all school jazz concert. The middle school and high school jazz choir and bands will perform at this concert. Both the choir and band have been working hard to perfect the songs for these performances.
After these concerts, the choir and band will begin to work on music for the State large group festival which will be held on May ninth. At large group, the choir and band will perform in front of a group of judges to receive a rating. The choir and band both look to try and receive a Division I rating.
Shortly after the large group festival, the high school choir and band will perform in the spring concert on May 13th. The final performance of the school year for choir and band will be on May 18th, at commencement.
