All Iowa dance 2025

Written by Allee Carr

The Algona Diamond Dancers wrapped up their season on Friday, February 28, at their Spring Show. The dancers showcased all of their game day routines, State solos, and their State pom routine.

The team has two seniors this year, Evie Guenther and Lillian Miller. Guenther was a four year member of the Algona dance team. Guenther will be attending Iowa State University for genetics. The team will miss her! Lillian Miller was a two year member of the Algona dance team. Miller will be attending Hawkeye Community College for medical laboratory sciences. Miller also signed to be on the Hawkeye dance team. The team is very proud of her and she will be missed!

Even though the Spring Show was the end of the season for the team, three girls from the dance team headed to Des Moines for the All Iowa Honor Dance Team on Thursday, March 6, through Saturday, March 8. At the beginning of the season, Allee Carr, Jada Roberts, and Adyson Metzger auditioned to be a part of All Iowa. Carr and Roberts were selected for the pom routine and Metzger was selected for the kick team. They joined other dancers from many different schools from all across Iowa, performing at All Iowa Honor Dance Team in Des Moines.

The Algona Dance Team got a new coach this year, Melissa Carr. Coach Carr was very supportive and was always happy to be at practice. Coach Carr said, “I have loved watching this team come together this season. These girls all have so much pride and dedication to the team and the success of the team! It’s been a great first season of coaching the dance team and I can’t wait for next year!” These dance team girls had a wonderful season!

Next year's tryouts will be held in early May. If you have any questions about the dance team, feel free to reach out to Coach Carr or one of the dancers!
