AHS was able to showcase artwork from 12 different AHS students at this year’s North Central Conference Art show. It was held at Ellsworth Community College on Tuesday, April 30th, and was hosted by Iowa Falls-Dows High School.
The students who participated from AHS include: Tehya Ludwig with her sculpture, Breanna Abendroth with printmaking and a painting, Loralei Brady with a drawing and a painting, Ava Petersen with a painting, Elizabeth Kinsman with a painting, Aubri Dontje with a drawing, Makayla Erpelding with a photograph, Kara Rotert with a photograph, Remi Shaffer with a drawing, McKenna VanReese with a sculpture, and Ellie Vaske with a sculpture.
Students who won top awards from AHS include Aubri Dontje for best of show overall, Ellie Vaske with 1st place for her sculpture, Kara Rotert with a judge’s award for first place, and Elizabeth Kinsman for second place judge’s award.
Three AHS students also won raffle prizes. Ellie Vaske and Loralei Brady won cameras and McKenna VanReese won a VR headset.
Mr. Yi, art advisor, states, “It was an awesome day for our students. They had a great showing!”
