The Algona High School Model United Nations season has come to an end. On April 4th, the Model UN team traveled to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for the Iowa High School Model UN Spring Conference. Roughly 350 students from all over the state attended.
This year, Algona High School students represented the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
The students spent the 4th and the 5th in simulations, working on solutions for major world issues. Thirteen students from Algona High School attended. These students are Hannah Severson, Flynn McCann, Waverly Espe, Aleena Rosacker, Camilla Campuzano, Loralei Brady, Jasper Wirth, Jacob Barglof, Riker Brindley, Seth Walker, Remi Shaffer, and Paige Vileta.
Out of every student in attendance, 12 were chosen as outstanding delegates. Waverly Espe and Riker Brindley were a part of those 12. When asked about Model UN, Camilla Campuzano said, “I’m sad this is my last year, but it was one of the best conferences to end my Model UN career!”
Congratulations to the Algona Model UN team on a successful year!
