With the arrival of colder weather, we would like to remind families to ensure that children come to school dressed appropriately for the season. Please make sure your child wears a warm coat, a hat, and gloves or mittens each day. On days with snow, ice, or extremely cold temperatures, boots and snow pants will also be needed for outdoor play.
To help prevent misplaced items, please label all clothing and accessories with your child’s name. We also ask that students bring a pair of shoes in their backpack to wear indoors during the school day.
Thank you for helping us keep all students comfortable, healthy, and ready to learn during the winter months.
Sincerely,
Mr. Sudol

Dear Students and Families,
Earlier today, the Algona Community School District was temporarily closed out of an abundance of caution due to a reported bomb threat. The Algona Police Department and the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office were immediately contacted and responded promptly to ensure the safety of everyone on campus.
After a thorough physical investigation, including K-9 units, law enforcement determined the threat was not credible. We are incredibly grateful for the swift and professional response of our local law enforcement agencies and for the cooperation of our students and staff throughout the day.
While classes are canceled for the remainder of the day, evening, and weekend activities will resume as usual, including our Varsity Football game and the previously scheduled Back the Blue Event. Classes will resume as usual on Monday morning.
We recognize that situations like this can cause concern or anxiety. If you or your student needs support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to building administrators, building counselors, or Seasons staff located in our buildings.
Safety remains our top priority, and we will continue to work closely with law enforcement to maintain a secure and supportive environment for all students and staff.
