Today at 5:30 at Bertha Godfrey, there will be a dedication ceremony of playground equipment in honor of Cary Buss, ACSD employee who passed away unexpectedly on November 4th last year. Cary began her career in Food Service, then transferred to a role as Teacher Associate at Bryant and Bus Associate with Chuck Stetzel. The former ACSD Food Service staff donated the 2-person bus spring-rider in her memory that was installed by our maintenance staff. Everyone is welcome to attend!

It is a requirement by the State of Iowa that any schools who provide meal services through a Food Service Management Company gather feedback twice per year from students, staff, and parents. Algona Schools contracts food services through Taher, and is required to collect this feedback. The past 3 years we have held traditional meetings, but felt we could reach more families and staff if we instead conducted a quick survey.
