I am excited to start my 6th year as the Superintendent in the Algona Community School District! Algona CSD is filled with an incredibly passionate and professional staff who put students first! I believe it to be both a privilege and an honor to have the opportunity to lead the Algona Community School District!
I graduated from Wartburg College in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in American History Education and later received my Masters from the University of Iowa in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies. I have also completed the Superintendent Certification program at the University of Iowa. In my career, I have served as an Elementary Principal and Activities Director in the Emmetsburg Community School District for 7 years. Prior to that I served as the Dean of Students in grades 5-12 and taught Middle School Social Studies in the Emmetsburg District.
My wife Lisa works as a Nurse Practitioner at the Spencer Hospital and at Unity Point in Fort Dodge. We have 3 children, Lindsay (22), Luke (20) and Tate (17). My wife and I enjoy watching the Bulldogs compete in all of their events, riding bikes and spending time in our boat on the water! We are Hawkeye Fans and love watching the next Hawkeye sporting event and cheering on the Hawks!
Go Bulldogs!
