I am entering my 21st year in education with the past 20 years being in the Emmetsburg Community School District.  I graduated from Wartburg College in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in American History Education and later received my Masters from the University of Iowa in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies.  I am currently finishing up the Superintendent Certification program at the University of Iowa.  I have served as Elementary Principal for the past 8 years and was also the Activities Director in the Emmetsburg Community School District for 7 years.  Prior to that I served as the Dean of Students in grades 5-12 and taught Middle School Social Studies in the Emmetsburg District.
My wife Lisa works as a Nurse Practitioner at the Spencer Hospital and at Unity Point in Fort Dodge.  We have 3 children, Lindsay (17), Luke (15) and Tate (12).  My wife and I enjoy watching our children at all of their events, riding bikes and spending time in our boat on the water!  We are Hawkeye Fans and love watching the next Hawkeye sporting event and cheering on the Hawks!
The transition to the Algona Community School District over the past few months has been wonderful!  I have had the opportunity to meet so many fabulous staff and community members who are so very passionate about their school and community.  It is very obvious that this is a special place!  I believe it to be both a privilege and an honor to have the opportunity to lead the Algona Community School District!
Go Bulldogs!
