Algona schools staff members recognized with a golden apple for their 25 years of service in education.

This year fourteen staff members were recognized for 25 years of service in education. As Algona schools’ interim superintendent, Dr. Williams, pointed out at their recognition ceremony on May 24th, 25 years ago gas was $1.09, a new car was $12,350, and a new house was $119,000. While quite a lot has changed over the last 25 years, these staff members’ dedication to education has not.

Those recognized include Marilyn Berte, Brian Connick, Donna Hellman, Jodie Huff, Jim McMahon, Kim Meyers, Karen Sankey, Julie Stein, Teresa Stumo, Janet Votteler, Greg Wellman, Kari Young, Steve Young, and Mike Weier.

Besides being recognized at the staff luncheon, they received a golden apple that was engraved with their name & years of service.
